What is important to note is that this group of people, who also meet at the locational development committee level to consolidate project identification (prioritize) work without any payment. They have elected to give their time and their knowledge free for the benefit of the larger community. In future, these representatives will be elected at the sub-location level.

At the constituency level, where the law provides for up to a maximum of sixteen, we chose to include, as participating observers, all the locational chiefs, all the councillors from both the county council and Kangema urban council.

Furthermore, we felt that the provision made by law for only one youth representative was not adequate. The youth therefore identified one of their own from every location to represent them at the Constituency Development committee. In this way, the Development Committee becomes represented right from the grassroots to the Constituency level.

I felt it was important for me to explain this scenario to you and to give you the logical progression of transparency that has led to the launching of this website so that in future, you will be kept even more up to date with the development issues of Kangema Constituency.

I am very glad that the launch has coincided with a new five year term for His Excellency the President and I am sure that this five years will see this Constituency grow by leaps and bounds.
