MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Kangema Constituency Development
Fund website. For the last five years that this unique fund has been in existence in this our great Nation, all Constituency Development Committees have been trying, with varying degrees
of success, to improve their management capacities.

On our part in Kangema, we realised very quickly that one of the fundamental aspects of good management practice is WIDE COMMUNITY REPRESENTATION. The Act of Parliament that
gave birth for a committee of between twelve and fifteen people to run this fund in a constituency.

This number has since been revised to include the constituency chair of Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization. The maximum number of members on the committee still remains at fifteen.

Because of our desire to be all inclusive and to have a wider community representation, 12 (twelve) elders were identified from each sub-location to be the opinion leaders on all matters relating to CDF. The duties of these opinion leaders are, but not limited to

a) monitoring and evaluation

b) project identification

c) allocation of funds for project implementation.

d) Identification of needy cases that require assistance for continuing with education (bursary fund).
